Leicester Players Have Their Fleet of BMW i8s Wrapped to Stop Mixing Them Up

At the beginning of August it has become apparent that 19 of the Leicester FC players were offered a BMW i8 hybrid sports car each by the club's owner. This came as a thank you present after the small club miraculously won the British Premier League last year.
Since blue is the club's color and BMW just happens to have a very nice shade of it on the i8's color palette, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha (no, really), the chairman of the Leicester City FC had them all ordered with the same paint job. It's just like when you have two or more kids: you have to buy them all identical toys so there's no room for interpretations.

As nice (and costly) as this gift was, you'd expect the highly-paid football players to afford even more expensive or eccentric wheels. You'd imagine most of them would give the i8 to their wives or girlfriends and continue driving something with a more muscular engine than BMW's 1.5-liter turbo. After all, they did have an $8.6 million bonus to share between them.

You should never underestimate the charms of the BMW i8. It turns out that the club's parking lot has been looking pretty much the same as on that fatidical day in August ever since because most of the players enjoy driving their hybrids to training. But finding your car among 18 identical others after a long and exhausting session can be tricky, so instead of relying on number plates, the Mirror says some of them have decided to have their vehicles personalized.

Since painting a car is both expensive and not a particularly good idea - especially when it's a brand new vehicle - they went for the option of wrapping. The first one to do it is winger Jeffrey Schlupp who took his BMW to AC13 Premier and had it wrapped in - you guessed it - matte black.

Considering that's a color that fits the i8 so well, we wouldn't be surprised if a few weeks later, the Leicester City FC players will be faced with the same problem again, only this time all cars are matte black. First world problems, squared.
