When you say Ferrari F40, we think of Ferrari Enzo, since it was the last model the automotive legend approved. Is it fair that so many auto-related companies still use this to promote their products? Maybe it’s not, but it sure works.
A while ago Lego would release one of those videos in which the designer of a new case presented his latest creation.

The F40 Lego kit is a marvel itself, as they managed to keep those bricks extremely close to the original sportscar bodywork. Its sleek aerodynamic lines, distinctive rear spoiler and racing-red bodywork, all are packed with authentic brick-built details, including pop-up headlights, side air intakes and a vented rear hatch that opens to reveal the twin-turbocharged, 90-degree V8 engine.

Add the accurate interior that includes the cabled door handles, steering wheel with Ferrari logo and two red racing seats and the F40 is complete. The actual successor of the 288 GTO would probably cost you an arm and a leg, but things are rather affordable when you settle with this brick scale model. The Lego kit was recently listed on the Danish toymaker’s website with a $100 price tag.

However, we can’t mention the Prancing Horse without talking about performance for a change. Weighing it at 1,100 kg (2,425 lb) the high power output of 478 horsepower at 7000 rpm gave this Italian exotic impressive potential. Road tests have propelled the red beast from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Moreover, the F40 was the first road legal production car to break the 200 mph barrier. We may have hypercars such as the Bugatti Veyron and the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita now, but back in the day (between 1987 and 1989 more precisely) this puppy held the record as the world’s fastest production car.

To conclude, the fact that there still are people out there who find the need to bring their tribute to these car legends is quite significant and noteworthy. We'll take two!
