LEGO has unveiled a new kit aimed at automotive enthusiasts, which will result in a scale version of the Caterham Seven 620R.
The LEGO set even has a removable nose cone, an engine and engine cover, and a trunk that can be opened. The latter conceals a set of jack stands inside. Like numerous other projects, this kit was inspired by fan submissions on the LEGO Ideas crowdsourcing platform.

In other words, this LEGO kit is inspired by what enthusiasts proposed, and the company agreed with them and will sell the package starting October 1, 2016.

LEGO has already explained that the kit is age appropriate for those over 12 years old, so do not get one of these for your toddler. The company also mentions “building experience,” which is something one might need to assemble a kit that has over 770 pieces.

The author of this article remembers the difficulty of a puzzle with that many pieces, so we underline the fact that this kit is not for beginners.

The resulting authentic replica of the Caterham Seven 620R from LEGO bricks has a height of just over three inches (10 cm), is 11 inches long (28 cm), and five inches wide (14 cm).

If you are passionate about Caterham models and feel you could build one, buy this kit first, as you may find the experience useful in the future. Not only that, but playing with LEGO is oddly satisfying even at ages far above 12.

Top speed is rated at six miles per hour, with the mention that the value was “not scientifically proven.” Nice one, LEGO, you still have a sense of humor.

The Caterham Seven 620R LEGO kit will cost $79.99, or 99.99 Canadian dollars. Since it is not destined for beginners, its price is more than reasonable. We feel that we have to remind everyone that this is more than a toy, and its 770 pieces might be dangerous for small children because of a choking hazard posed by small parts.
