You don't have to doubt the level of your maturity for reading this material. As every kid who's had their present assembled by their father instead is very much aware, LEGO knows no age.

The Scandinavians have figured out that people gain a lot of satisfaction from putting things together with their own two hands, with both LEGO and IKEA proving the recipe successful. In a world where the result of most of our work lacks a material representation, these two companies touch on a more primordial side of human nature: the builder.

I don't know about others, but I have a few boxes full of LEGO bricks just waiting for my kids to be old enough to play with them without the risk of swallowing one. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself. In reality, what I'm waiting for is an excuse to bring them out and start building again without looking like a complete fool.

That won't be a thing with LEGO's latest set. The brick version of Lamborghini's Sian FKP 37 supercar looks just as cool as any of the 63 real cars built by the Italian manufacturer. And it's no child's play, either. You'll need a lot of experience with the tiny plastic bricks if you're to end up with something resembling the actual thing, and not something that just came out of a terrible high-speed crash.

The level of detail is astonishing, but it's a 1/8th scale model, so it needed to be. For $379.99, you'll get a Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 model with working scissor doors, a functioning eight-speed transmission - paddles included - a replica of the legendary V12 engine and the now mandatory adjustable rear wing. In total, you'll get 3,696 pieces to play with, which should keep you entertained for quite a few hours.

The new set will be available for order starting the first day of next month directly from the Danish company, but if patience is your game (and it better be if you want to complete the set) you can wait two more months for the toy Lambo to hit LEGO retailers all around the world. That also leaves a bit more time to siphon the cash without your spouse noticing.
