LEGO Bronco Is Here, It Was Made by Ford Engineer and You Can't Buy It

The Blue Oval had been teasing and giving hints about the resurrected Ford Bronco for what felt like an eternity prior to release, so we would not be surprised to find out that it also had time to breed a wide range of partnerships. One of the most suitable ones would be with the famed LEGO company - but before that happens on an official level, we already have a fan’s reinterpretation.
Actually, he is no ordinary LEGO fan – Instagram user “lego_911” is Peter Blackert, an engineer who is working for the Ford Motor Company itself. So, while this is his personal, unofficial reinterpretation, we can bet the level of accuracy and attention to detail is through the roof.

When the Blue Oval decided to bring back to life the famed SUV and opted for a tough-as-nails truly off-road capable vehicle, it might have taken its best decision in years – if we gauge that solely based on initial reception.

There is still so much time until the big Bronco will reach dealerships, which is why we think Blackert’s idea should be taken seriously by Ford and LEGO both – imagine how much sweeter would be for anyone to play with a Bronco LEGO set while awaiting the real thing to be parked onto the driveway.

We should not be getting ahead of time though, because at least we can still admire the handywork of this dedicated man. He was kind enough to deliver both a two-door and a four-door Bronco, so only Bronco Sport fans might feel a little bit neglected.

Both look like work made by someone who is utterly passionate about his craft – if anyone showed us these Broncos without saying anything, we would have at once presumed these were official LEGO sets created by the Danish company. Of course, expert-level detailing and tinkering can always be expected from an engineer, right?

The two unofficial sets carry an entire array of trademarks from the new Bronco – both LEGO prototypes have removable roof panels, a split hatchback, the spare tire attached at the back, the huge guard flares, and the general blocky atmosphere.

The latter is not that hard to replicate on a LEGO set – given the real Bronco’s own squared-off design. And we like it that way – when a vehicle can travel anywhere on the planet and (possibly) beyond it should always come with the proper G.O.A.T. (Go Over Any Terrain) styling.
