A bunch of scans showing the Mercedes SLR McLaren Stirling Moss got leaked on the web, unveiling an eye-catching vehicle, with no windows or roof but reminding us of the race car Stirling Moss drove 1955 at Mille Miglia. The German carmaker will start a 75-unit limited production of the Stirling Moss model in June 2009, with the production of the SLR model to be discontinued in May, German Car Zone wrote.

As mentioned above, there's no roof or windows but two small wind deflectors especially installed to protect passenger from dust and insects, the aforementioned source. And because the engine is one of the most important parts of this limited edition, Mercedes installed an SLR-like unit, namely a V8 compressor unit boasting 650 horsepower. Thanks to this engine, the car can run with a maximum speed of 350 km/h (that's almost 217.5 mph!) and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

In case you're wondering what happens if it rains, the German manufacturer provides and old-style method to protect the interior: two covers stored in the trunk.

Unfortunately for those car aficionados who hoped to get such a beauty, Mercedes will release the limited editions SLR only for the “the most loyal customers of the SLR supercar,” as the aforementioned source mentioned in the report.

Because we're sure you'd like to see more photos with the original car driven by Stirling Moss in 1955, as well as the leaked scans published by the Dutch publication AutoVisie, check out the photo gallery published below the article. Feel free to share your opinion!
