Porsche might have unleashed the 2018 911 GT3, with customer cars now lapping the Nurburgring, but the tale of the Gen 2 model is not complete yet. That's because the German automaker has yet to unveil the Touring Package for the Neunelfer. Thankfully, the rear-engined delight has now leaked online.
These images, which were reportedly published on Autopresse and quickly removed, but not before the Instagram aficionados could get their hands on them.
As we noticed on the prototypes we spied on multiple occasions, the rear wing of the standard GT3, if we may call it so, has been removed. Keep in mind that a test car showcased an active wing that seemed to be shared with the Carrera models.
Underneath the posterior of the Porscha, we notice the "normal" GT3's massive diffuser, which has been borrowed from the 911 R. Speaking of which, this vehicle can be considered an R for the "masses".
It seems that an all-black interior comes as a standard feature, while the seats appear to pack textile centers.
Various 991.2 GT3 options, such as the Sport Chrono Package and the PCCB (Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes) are also available.
The info associated with the images talks about the naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six of the GT3 having maintained its 500 hp output. And while the car is said to come in manual-only trim, we'll take this with a grain of salt.
While these photos do allow us to take a peek inside the machine, we still can't be certain about the all-important rear seats - while GT Division Neunelfers traditionally come with a rear seat delete, the daily driving-orientated pack we have here is expected to bring them back.
The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package is set to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens its gates to the press tomorrow.
Nevertheless, since we hate to keep you waiting, you'll also find a real world pic of the flat-six jewel below.
Update:Here are the full details of the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package.
