Automotive history is filled with short wheelbase cars that have been filled with big engines to create unique motoring icons - R5 TURBO, Clio V6 and now potentially the Fiat 550 Italia.
An Italian design company has dreamed up a unique Fiat 500 with the engine in the back, but not just any engine. We’re talking about the 90 degree V8 from the Ferrari 458 Italia, together with its gearbox.

The Ferrari 4.5-liter engine will reportedly have to be detuned from 570 PS to 550 PS because the high torque made high-speed shifting dangerous.

The Italian company is currently looking for an investor that can put up the $550,000 they need to actually build this supermini turned supercar.

We have to admit that after looking at the big wing and the huge tires, it would be a shame to never get to see the real thing.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
