There definitely are some people who are simply born to be wild, and Laverne Chance of Metamora, IL, is such a person. Getting close to her 100th birthday, Laverne plans to ride a motorcycle once more, and she's preparing to do so for the Saturday ride.
Mother of enthusiast rider JR Chance, Laverne plans to show the retirement community of Snyder Village some real attitude when it comes to becoming a century-old lady. Laverne plans to ride his son's Honda Shadow, and this will be her first ride in 10 years.

On Friday, when she turns 100, se will be in the presence of 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, plus more, but the greatness is only about to follow: no less than 100 bikers will be present on Saturday for the "Memorial Run 2013," organized by the American Legion Riders from Post 100 in Washington, and ride by her side.

As the last funny detail, her husband used to ride motorcycles until he ran out of gas during World War II and had to push it, so his appetite for bikes disappeared. JR Chance also says that in case his mother will not be able to hold on to him in the passenger seat, there's also a sidecar waiting, so there's no way his mother will not ride.
