Think of the brand new Range Rover Evoque and now picture an old Defender. Different, aren’t they, and it will only get more different, because according to Inside Line, Land Rover is pondering a performance sub-brand that will be marketed in a similar way to Jaguar’s “R” line of go-fast vehicles.
Supercharged V8 are a big hit in the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, though the same engines can also be found in the XKR and XJR. In addition, a more powerful Evoque is also on the way, and these vehicles should give leverage against the Germans.
