Land Rover Joins Burghley Horse Trials' 50th Anniversary

At the beginning of September, some of the finest riders in the world will be making their way to the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, an event held in Lincolnshire from the 1st to the 4th. It not only sees the seventh year of sponsorship from the British SUV maker, but also the 50th anniversary celebration of the event.

Competition officials, fence judges, medical teams and competitors will benefit from Land Rover event vehicles which will also form part of the design of special feature fences on the Cross Country course.

Land Rover’s presence will also include a full vehicle display, hospitality pavilion and the Land Rover Experience, which will be giving a taste of legendary Land Rover off-road performance with passenger rides over a purpose-built course located by the Lion Bridge.

“Land Rover has a great relationship with Burghley and we are excited to be a part of the anniversary celebrations for the event's unique 50-year achievement,”
said Land Rover UK Managing Director Colin Green. “The occasion gives us a superb opportunity to showcase our vehicles in a setting that perfectly reflects important aspects of our brand, and to demonstrate our on-going support for equestrian sports and countryside pursuits. It also allows us to reveal to thousands of spectators the contemporary design, quality and technical sophistication that help define Land Rover today, not least in the outstanding new Range Rover Evoque.”

Last year, the Company announced a further three-year title sponsorship agreement that will continue through to the 2013 trials. As a result, Land Rover owners visiting Burghley will be able to park in a dedicated forward Land Rover car park, located close to the lake.
