We’ve got some interesting news for Land Rover fans as the company seems to have filed, just last month, to trademark the name “Landy.” The interesting part is that we don’t exactly know what their intentions are, since it can cover about anything, from clothes to accessories and even cars.
Still, we believe that the British manufacturer is thinking of launching a compact urban SUV. Even Land Rover global band director John Edwards said that the SUV segment is constantly growing, therefore a new SUV sounds attractive. But, unfortunately bringing a sub-Evoque model is not their priority right now.

It appears that the company is more interested in smaller products, Director of Programs Murray Dietsch saying that they just need to find a way of making them “good business,” because that is the challenging part. “Sure the volume’s there, but you’ve got to make sure you’re not chasing something that you’ll never be able to deliver a business return on, so it’s a bit of a balance,” we went on to say.

Whatever they have prepared for us, we will surely find out in the near future. Still, it won’t hurt to hope for a brand new SUV.
