Land Rover is having quite a bowl in New York, with the carmaker offering us a preview for its future Discovery family of models. This comes in the form of the Discovery Vision Concept and we’ve got a series of live photos to show you.
The Discovery Vision Concept showcases a whole range of technologies, from hand gestures operating the lights to an overly modular interior. Nevertheless, we are keen on the driving assistance part of the deal, which sees the vehicle relying heavily on laser technology.
We’ve already seen how the Land Rover Discovery Vision puts its laser headlights and laser measurements to work, with the car promising to offer the offroading of tomorrow. To understand the complexity of the development, we’ll mention that the idea of automated offroading is on the table. Of course, we have to wait and see how many of these features will actually make it into Land Rover’s future cars.
Speaking of production, the Discovery Concept Vision will spawn a four-model family. This will include an upmarket Discovery replacement, as well as a more rugged version of the car.
Moreover, Land Rover has just confirmed the Discovery Sport. This is set to arrive in two different flavors, a five-seater and a seven-seater. The Discovery Sport will replace the aging Freelander / LR2 and will make its debut sometime next year.
