Lancia Ypsilon ELLE to Be Exhibited at Frankfurt

After the Ypsilon Moda Milano, Ypsilon Versus and Musa Poltrona Frau, its adverts starring icons of Italian fashion like Stefano Gabbana and Carla Bruni, Italian carmaker Lancia announced that its Ypsilon ELLE show car will be exhibited at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show (2009 IAA). Created from a partnership between Lancia and the ELLE brand, the model is destined for the same fashion trends followers, just like the previous editions. The Lancia Ypsilon ELLE show car is in fact a preview of a special limited edition that will be sold in spring 2010 in the major European markets. The Lancia Ypsilon ELLE show car is undoubtedly destined for women, with its metalluro-effect pink bodywork and the 16-inch alloy wheels that are painted in the same pink as the body, but with a matt coat. However, it fails to represent the strong and independent woman of today. Instead, its Barbie-mobile look makes us think more at the “Legally Blonde” type.... Moving on with the exterior styling details, the car offers chrome-plated details such as the radiator grille, the rear bumper, handles and door mouldings. Furthermore, on the outside pillar, there is the main silk-screen print - inspired by ELLE magazine covers and forming the ELLE logo. The inside features are even more eye-catching, as it is finished in special purple leather and Alcantara upholstery and having the word ELLE on the middle part of the seat, contrasting stitching with bright white leather piping, bright white Alcantara upholstery on the upper part of the central pillars and the roof panel and Velour floor mats with leather edges. However, it's the purple gear stick gaiter that stands out... autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions
