Lancia Musa Reaches the End of the Line

While Lancia may be marketing the Musa as a ‘city limo’, it is nothing more than a rebadged Fiat Idea (another car which went out of production in 2011) MPV which, considering the firm’s very rich history, should have never worn the Lancia badge.

We can’t say we’re particularly saddened by the event, as the Fiat 500L will more-than-compensate for the loss of the Musa which is based on very old underpinnings anyway (first introduced in 2004). Apparently, they have already amassed a considerable stock of cars which will meet the demand for the coming period, before the 500L becomes widely available.

Also, according to autoedizione.com, the end of the Musa means the end of the trademark Lancia grille, much-loved and appreciated by fans of the brand (including ourselves). The 2600 employees who were building the Musa are now on vacation and are awaiting the announcement for preparations to begin for the production of the compact Fiat/Alfa/Jeep SUV.
