As the Italian carmaker Lamborghini celebrated its 50th Anniversary this year at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, Jay Leno’s Garage team went there and covered the whole story with two Lamborghini key persons.
The montage shows former chief test driver of Lamborghini, Valentino Balboni and head of America Lamborghini operations, Michael Locke, being interviewed. Balboni tells his story from his first test drives at the automaker’s plant in Italy, while Locke showcases one of the most unique Lamborghinis ever created.
Made in 1968, the Lamborghini Miura Roadster Concept was a revolutionary supercar at its time, having no roof, side windows nor engine cover, the only piece of glass being the small windshield. It was also painted in a sparkly light metallic blue color, unused before on the Miuras.
There is a little extra at the end of the video, having Jay Leno being sorry that he didn’t bought the one-off Miura when he had the chance.
