Lamborghini Veneno Roadster Flying Low over the Streets of Los Angeles

Rare Lamborghini Veneno Roadster sighting 1 photo

Back in 2013 when this car first came out, the people couldn't believe their eyes. The Veneno was a bit too much even for Lamborghini in terms of design.
But seeing the car at a motor show with its waxed paintwork and thousands of lights shinning right at it is one thing, and seeing it cruising down the street is completely different.

Back at the Lamborghini stand, it looked like it belonged there - it was among its less radical siblings, but the contrast was bearable. Out in the real world, however, the Veneno quickly turns into some sort of an evil black unicorn trying to make its way through a sea of cars that look like they could become its prey at any time. And no, the Bentley Continental GT Convertible makes no exception.

The Lamborghini Veneno is just ridiculous. If at any point it grew wings, took off and started dropping bombs over enemy positions, nobody would be surprised. It's got that whole Lamborghini stealth fighter jet look taken to a whole other level. And mixed with some dinosaur DNA.

And you can hear it in the people's reaction. Bear in mind this is happening on the streets of a rich Los Angeles neighborhood called Beverly Hills, so these people are used to their fair share of expensive cars.

The Lamborghini Veneno isn't just expensive (insanely so at $4.5 million), it's also extremely rare. There were only three Venenos ever sold to the public (out of the five built), and just nine more Roadsters, which makes the Veneno an extremely rare sighting.

The Aventador-based Veneno was developed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Italian brand and it became the most expensive production car in the world. It used the 6.5-liter V12 engine common to other Lamborghini models, developing 750 hp.

And because I can only see him for about 15 seconds, I'm not going to say anything about the owner of the car, but I really hope he's not as he appears to be. He does use the turn indicator, so he might be a nice guy after all.
