Lamborghini Urus Meets Audi Q8 in Switzerland, and Both Are Black

They say that the Lamborghini Urus and Audi Q8 were developed near each other, which is why both ended up looking so sexy. And did you know they have the same door mirrors?

While there are a couple of different Instagram accounts posting photos of these two together, it seems everything is thanks to a man called Alexandre Mourreau, the director of Cars and Coffee Geneva. He's posted the black Urus next to other black Lambos, such as an SV Roadster.

The Urus is quite a controversial project, but also a very successful launch. It seems a lot of people secretly wanted a Raging Bull SUV. The model is derived from a VW Group platform, shared with the Audi Q8 and the Bentley Bentayga.

For now, the Audi Q8 isn't really a match, since the only engine you can buy is a 3.0 TDI making 286 horsepower. That's an almost insignificant number compared to the 650 horsepower of the Urus.

But an RS Q8 is on its way, and it too will feature the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, possibly matching the 650 ponies. For now, we can only compare the two on design. Honestly, there's not much separating them.

Audi did a fantastic job with the Q8. It's put together with much cleaner geometric shapes, yet still manages to look very aggressive. From the back, the Urus is more sloped, but we prefer the larger taillights of the Audi. Quad exhausts and a diffuser mean the Lambo still edges forward.

Even though you can't tell from the photos, the Audi Q8 is slightly smaller. From bumper to bumper, it measures 4,986mm compared to 5,112mm. The Urus is also 20mm wider and has an 8mm longer wheelbase, but the height is 60mm lower. For now, the Audi is a little lighter, but that's mainly due to its V6 engine. Hopefully, we'll repeat this discussion once the RS version comes out.
