Right now would be very good for most Saudi buyers, they’ll still have five more years to wait before buying the Urus SUV from Lamborghini. Is this becoming the biggest task they’ve undertaken?
Autoblog recently reported that Lamborghini CEO and president Stephan Winkelmann, while confident the Urus will get the green light, he’s still waiting on VW Group to decide. The problem is they still don’t know if they will be able to rely on some sort of common new architecture to build it.
"It [Urus] has been well received both at Beijing and at clinics in America and Europe," Winkelmann said. "The point is that it is not a replacement vehicle, but a new vehicle and as a result we will be relying on the group to go forward."
The bad news is that even of VW says Lamborghini can build the Urus right now, it won’t be ready until 2015, five years from now.
