As Christmas is almost here, we are entering a world of dreams. This is a world where every wish becomes a reality and we all live happily ever after. Well, we’ve been wishing for a modern supecar that would really go on a diet for quite a while. You see, our strangely organized minds can only see the wild, tire-shredding, thrill-offering side of supercars, so we really don’t care about all the comfort and other features that make contemporary members of this breed so heavy.

Yes, the engines have evolved over the years, with 500 hp + being an output that doesn’t impress anyone now. However, the powerplants have to carry around structures that get heavier and heavier.

Of course, there are multiple supercar producers that have addressed this issue. This is how cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera LP570-4 were born. Unfortunately, none of these cars manages to bring a true revolution in terms of weight cutting. So our wish hasn’t been fulfilled.

However, a golden fish called Lamborghini decided to use this year’s Paris Motor Show to reveal a vehicle that seem to be built based on our dreams. We are talking about the Sesto Elemento concept. This shares the engine (a 570 hp 5.2 liter V10) and other drive components with the aforementioned Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, but, instead of 1,340 kg (2,954 kg), only weighs 999 kg (2,202 lbs).

We previously reported that the vehicle is headed for production in a track-only form, but it seems that our expectations have been surpassed. A simple search on on Mobile.de (some do this daily just for fun), will reveal that German premium and supercar retailer, Auto Salon Singen is offering the vehicle for sale. The company claims that Lambo will only bring 10 units of the vehicle to the world, adding that the car’s won’t be street-legal. The price? EUR2,261,900 ($ 2,964,000) - this includes 19% VAT.
