Lamborghini Owner Removes Wing from Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale, Here's the Sprint Boost

What can you do with a Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale these days? Well, by now, you've probably fully dipped into the supercar's potential and with everybody showing off their newest Huracans, 488s and 650S McLarens, you might be experiencing a bit of boredom.
While we're not here to bring you solutions (we don't find the attitude above as being a reasonable one), we can tell you what other STS owners have done.

Let's take the car in the video below, for instance. The owner had a thing for the 60-130 MPH (that's 97 to 209 km/h for all you reading this across the pond) sprint, willing to see how his 570 hp Raging Bull can handle this.

Having put the machine through its paces in stock form with a resulting time of 7.6 seconds, the idea of removing that massive rear wing came about.

We'll remind you the wing at the back of this Gallardo special edition is part of a complex aerodynamic package, one that reminds us this is the street version of the Super Trofeo racecar. Speaking of this, it's mildly amusing how Sant'Agata Bolognese started out with a Gallardo, built the racecar and then brought the latter back to street condition.

Returning to this particular Trofeo Stradale, that massive, manually-adjustable wing at the back, was eventually removed.

The sprint mentioned above was once again attempted, with the supercar covering it in 7.3 seconds.

We're not here to discuss the downforce drawbacks of the shaving job, but the footage below allows us to see the journey of the speedometer, as well as a chart for all you number aficionados.

We're not expecting supercar owners to watching such clips, head over to their garage and start removing stuff from their machines. However, we still feel a strong need to end this piece with the traditional "don't try this at home, or at least take it to the race track."
