Since it’s April 1st we’ll start by telling you that this is not a prank. It’s for the same reason that we’ll ask you to play this game with us. Imagine there’s a Huracan parked on your driveway, the 8-bedroom mansion you’re living in is a recent purchase, and your wife is an ex-model. There’s one thing missing out of the big picture: supercar furniture.
In our constant travels throughout the grey shades of the internet’s midlands, we managed to stumble upon some interesting things made of car parts.
In fact, it was just the other day we wrote about this amazing luxury lamp made of polished exhaust system that used to be part of a Formula One car. We’re talking about motorsport love taken to a whole new level, people, since these bespoke high-quality exhaust lamps used to be part of cars belonging to the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team.
Nevertheless, we found ourselves craving for more, something to ease the thirst of sportscar lovers too. Until today, there wasn’t much we could talk about when it comes to what we’ll call automotive-furniture. What you see in these lovely pictures are not real Lamborghini cars that somebody chopped in half and built some drawers into. In fact, we’re looking at some high-end furniture that is custom-built on demand and will set you back new car money. Let us look closer though.
Dreamed up by Design Epicentrum, a luxury furniture maker from Poznan, Poland the Lamborghini desk is very much inspired by the sportscar model it was shaped after. The nice folks designing these puppies were kind enough to share a couple of details about the desks.
They claim the Lamborghini fascia is made of fiberglass while the back is constructed using medium-density fiberboard (better known as MDF). The colors are optional and range from dark brown to bright black and everything in between.
As to the price, well you’d better hold your pants because Lamborghinis don’t come cheap, not even when they are envisioned as furniture. The one with a top glass attached will cost you $15,800, but you could always lose that part and save $2,800.
