Lamborghini Insecta Concept Photos

No, this isn't a new concept prepared by the Italian supercar manufacturer but a design study made by Iulian Bumbu, a 28-year-old Romanian who aimed to create a new Lamborghini by mixing the brand's main styling elements with particular structures found in insect exoskeletons.

According to carbodydesign.com, the car has the length as the Gallardo (4,300 mm) but different height, width and wheelbase (1,000, 2,000 and 2,650 mm respectively). In addition, the body structure and the panels are entirely made of carbon fiber, for reduced weight and performance increase, while the powertrain is basically the same as the one installed on Gallardo.

Obviously, only a little can be commented on about this model but, as you can observe for yourself, the suicide doors, the aggressive front fascia and the small triangle-shaped headlights contribute to the overall aerodynamic appearance of the vehicle.

"The idea was to create an extreme race-oriented supercar with a style that introduces softer and more organic lines and integrate them into the geometrical style of Lamborghini," Iulian Bumbu, the Insecta concept designer, was quoted as saying by the aforementioned source.

"I tried to apply this type of organic movements and translate them into Lamborghini's style so that when you see the car, you can immediately recognize it as a Lambo."

As you can see in the the adjacent photos, the car looks absolutely amazing and is indeed based on the aerodynamic designs seen on most Lamborghini's models. However, talking about mass-production or at least, a prototype, of this design study is a waste of time so we'll just let you enjoy the pictures.
