Truth be told, we've been expecting Sant'Agata Bolognese engineers to show up on the Nurburgring, behind the wheel of the Huracan Superleggera, ever since we drove the Gallardo's successor.
The Huracan LP610-4 is a bewildering naturally aspirated beast, with Lamborghini even addressing the understeer issues of the early cars. Nevertheless, since this is the first model in the history of the Raging Bull that you can use as a daily driver, it's obvious that the machine's full go-fast potential hasn't been exploited.

And the various editions that arrived meanwhile don't follow the patter. Whether we're talking about the inevitably lifestyle-oriented Spyder or the slightly downtuned LP580-2 rear-wheel-drive model, we'll have to wait for the Superleggera to feel the full performance of the Huracan platform.

Nevertheless, given how sharp the Gallardo Superleggera was, we're pretty sure the wait will be entirely worth it.

Heck, even now, when it's fully covered in psychedelic camo, the pumped-up Huracan looks ready to deliver a sensorial overload. Our spy shooters have snapped the supercar lapping the Nordschleife at an amazing pace. And while it's way to early to talk about a 'Ring lap time, we can't help but remind you that, when Lambo engineers added the Superveloce badge to the Aventador, we ended up with a sub-7m beast that only sits 3 seconds behind the Porsche 918 Spyder hypercar.

Returning to the Huracan Superleggera, whose designation still hasn't been officially confirmed, the extreme aero package of the contraption almost makes the camouflage invisible.

It all starts at the nose of the supercar, where the redesigned apron looks like it wants to swallow the competition whole.

Then there's the massive fixed rear wing that replaces the active unit of the standard car. The rear end picture is completed by the reworked exhaust tips, which are inspired from the Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo racecar.

Oh, and let's not forget the aggressive engine cover. This conceals a reworked incarnation of the 5.2-liter V10, one that will deliver up to 550 metric horsepower. Nevertheless, an important part of the credit for the upcoming performance premium will go to an extended carbon diet, which is expected to help the machine shed up to 220 lbs (100 kg).

As for the soundtrack, the Huracan Superleggera will undoubtedly deliver one of the most memorable voices on the market. Speaking of which, expect this Lamborghini to show up by summer 2017.
