While this is not the first time a Lamborghini Huracan crashes, we may be dealing with the most spectacular accident involving the freshest Raging Bull. A Huracan went off the road and crashed in the Targa New Zealand rally and we now have the aftermath footage.
The V10 supercar was being manhandled by five-time event winner Tony Quinn, who, together with his co-driver Naomi Tilett escaped the crash uninjured. The two were fighting for the podium in the fifth of the rally’s six days before the Lambo left the tarmac.
As Quinn explains in the footage, the Huracan was doing about 200 km/h (124 mph) on a straight when it hit a massive dip just before a flying finish. The Lamborghini got some air time and, as if was not bad enough, another crash had just occurred in the same spot, so the driver has to swerve in order to avoid an accident, as well as a pole on the side of the road. As a result, the Lambo ended up in the bushes.
While the Lamborghini is not damaged all that severely, the bruises are enough to keep Quinn and Naomi from completing the sixth and final stage of the rally (the event had seven stages, but the final one was cancelled).
At the moment, the man is reportedly trying to fix his Huracan so he can finish the rally. The situation doesn’t exactly look bright, as the crash has made the team drop to 13th place in the class. Regardless, Quinn is determined to get back on the tarmac on Friday.
