This is that time of the year when we can see the most popular searches in various online categories and, if we were to talk about the supercar realm, "launch control" is definitely one of the top interest points. Interestingly, one Huracan owner out there decided to do more on the topic, testing his Raging Bull's 0 to 60 MPH time with and without launch control.
The YouTuber's findings were impressive, but, before talking about the results, we want to point out that the measurements done here are accurate enough to deserve our attention, since Brooks, the Lamborghini driver, used a Vbox.

We won't spoil the fun of the Drag Times-supplied clip be mentioning the actual times recorded by the V10 beast, but we can tell you that the difference between using the LC feature and simply flooring the gas pedal sat at 0.2 secons - by the way, Sant'Agata Bolognese likes to use its own name for the tech goodie, which is why we should call it Thrust Mode.

Having such a small difference between the two take-off modes brings at least two major benefits. The first has to do with all those occasions when you want to fly towards the horizon, but, no matter how simple the LC procedure is, you just don't have the time for it.

As for the second, this has to do with the long-term effects using Launch Control can have on your car. So far, we haven't heard of any extreme consequence cases, but even if all the dual-clutch machines out there were as reliable as the Porsche 911 Turbo S, which can take dozens of back-to-back runs without showing any loss in performance, it's obvious that the strain such stunts put on a vehicle's driveline will eventually show.

Since we mentioned the difficulty of engaging Thrust Mode, we added a second clip below. Coming from the same YouTube channel, this offers a Launch Control demo involving the Lamborghini - for the record, the Raging Bull's procedure is indeed among the simplest on the market.
