Lamborghini Huracan Gets 1,250 HP Twin-Turbo Double-Clutch Setup, Promises Drivability

With tuners like Underground Racing insisting on ignoring the fact that Lamborghini remains the only mainstream supercar builder, the twin-turbo aftermarket choices for the Huracan keep expanding. While this is great news, it also means it might be difficult to choose.

Sure, grabbing the fastest tuned Raging Bull out there (check out the details below) would be nice, but what about the everyday experience? Since the Huracan is the first Lamborghini you can drive on a daily basis, admittedly not without making a few efforts, going for the 2,300 HP development car used by Underground Racing just won’t cut it.

For one thing, that machine, which wears the UR2 nickname, uses a sequential gearbox whose violent nature is there to support the extreme performance (more on that topic here).

However, the aftermarket developer also offers something called UR1. With a more humble 1,250 hp, this Huracan keeps the double-clutch setup, albeit offering reinforced hardware.

Here’s what the tuner had to say about the double-clutch development: “The driveability is just as smooth as stock. Our Huracan DCT clutch setup was developed by Dodson Motorsports and exclusively available through Underground Racing.

That sounds great, but what about the performance of the machine?

Since we’re talking drivability, we’ll mention the street tire performance of the thing. Spoiler alert - there’s nothing to be worried about.

The DCT Huracan twin turbo recently attended the WannagoFast standing half mile event outside Dallas, Texas, with the boosted supercar managing to hit 202.5 mph (326 km/h).

That’s a half mile world record for the fastest DCT transmission Lamborghini. And while this might seem like the car (using its stock Pirelli rubber) only managed to achieve its factory top speed, climbing to such a velocity during a half mile run is quite an achievement. You can check it all out in the clip below.
