The new kid on the block hailing from Lamborghini is the Huracan, a model that wants to replace the uber-popular Gallardo and give the Aventador a run for its money as well. As it turns out, the two are extremely close in terms of performance if you’re capable of ignoring the spec sheet. It’s all sounding great so far but how will the Italian fare against cars that are not typically included in its niche?
Well, we’re here to find out and show you videos from around the world with all sorts of cars in them. In our most recent finding, we spotted a Huracan going up against a tuned Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG in a straight up drag race.

We know that pitting a stock car against a tuned one isn’t all that fair but we wanted to see how the naturally aspirated supercar would deal with a turbocharged 850 HP E63 AMG. That’s right this beast is pushing a lot more power to the wheels than the stock model.

You might be wondering how it was all possible. After all, just a new ECU map couldn’t do such wonders for the 5.5-liter V8, no matter if it wears the AMG badge on it or not.

Well, the guys from Renntech have a special kit for such situations. It involves changing the ECU map indeed but also the two turbochargers of the M157 biturbo plant. Thanks to their research and craftsmanship, the sedan now has around 850 HP and 945 lb-ft (1,281 Nm) of torque at its disposal, going to all four corners of the car. Yeah, that should be plenty to put the Lambo to shame.

To get a better idea of what we’re dealing with here, you should know that the Huracan has an atmospheric 5.2-liter V10 engine making 610 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. It also has weight to its advantage but against such a power output, there’s little the raging bull can do.

Even so, against all odds, the supercar showed that it can keep up towards the 200 km/h (124 mph) barrier and that it will only start to lose ground above that limit. That's also the point where all that extra HP and torque come in handy so what we have here is not surprising at all. Considering the differences involved, we’d even say it’s a pretty good result.
