Very popular with car designers starting with the early 1970s, the wedge design was brought into the 21st century by Mohammad Hossein Amini Yekta with its Lamborghini Ganador concept.
Developed in collaboration with the Italian automaker during Yekta’s first semester of the 2011-2012 academic year of the Masters Program at Milan-based SPD, the Ganador features the wedge-shaped body style seen on cars such as the Lamborghini Countach, Alfa Romeo Carabo, Lancia Stratos Zero or the Dome Zero.

Yekta claims the Ganador blends elegance and luxury without giving up on the aggressiveness seen on the latest Bulls coming out of Sant’Agata Bolognese: “The main task was to bring Lamborghini design elements together with a touch of luxurious soul and the general sportiness.”

“The overall design is more focused on being elegant rather than being sporty but at the same time tried to keep the aggressive look and uncompromising soul using some details like the tail lights which is hidden behind the blades in which when they are on, they give the feeling that a wild animal is trapped inside,” he added.
