Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Official Photos

Only a little is known about Lamborghini's upcoming rear-wheel drive model but here is a new set of leaked photos that might be indeed the future project. Also known as LP550-2, the car will feature a rear-wheel drive configuration, quite an innovation for Lamborghini as the Italian manufacturer usually relied on all-wheel drive architectures. We can't say for sure whether these leaked photos show indeed the LP550-2 but, in case they do, the future model will be, as you would normally expect from a Lamborghini, a very appealing vehicle.

Still in the rumor stage, the car might be powered by 5.2-liter normally aspirated V10 engine that would generate a maximum power of around 550 hp (405 kW). This means less than the LP560-4 which develops 560 horsepower (412 kW) but enough to deal with the aforementioned RWD.

The engine would be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission offered as standard. In terms of performance figures, the car reaches sixty in no more than 3.9 seconds, with maximum speed likely to go as high as the 250 km/h level.

Unfortunately for those of you who hope to buy one of these, Lamborghini will only produce a limited series of 250 units comprising eight different exterior colors. Pricing is obviously far from being revealed but various sources are hinting that Lamborghini intends to roll out a 10 percent price cut that would make the new model a bit more attractive - as if the current models aren't attractive enough, even with that price...

More information is yet to be revealed so keep an eye on our news section to stay up to date.
