It’s the weekend and autoevolution is taking a more leisurely approach to its reports. I figured the best thing to do is some supercar spotting.
Lamborghini usually brings a new drop-top to the Los Angeles Auto Show, and this year was no exception. They introduced the LP550-2 Spyder, the first RWD Gallardo convertible.
So we asked ourselves why anybody would ever want to buy such a car. The answer came from its sister, the 550-2 Balboni, which offers the same platform but as a coupe. The video posted on Youtube by Dubai supercar spotter 4WheelsofLux proves you need that engine noise in a convertible.
Both are powered by a 5.2l ten cylinder engine, developing 550 hp (hence the name on the car). The convertible needs 4.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h and the coupe you see here takes 3.9 seconds.
