Lamborghini Driver Totals His Murcielago While Racing a Viper, Lambo Catches Fire

Ladies and gentlemen drivers, we are here to discuss the case of a Lamborghini that caught fire. Yes, we know, this isn’t anything special and yet we have to explain this is one case where the supercar didn’t catch fire all on its own. It was actually being street raced, with its driver crashing it before the fire burst out.

It all happened last Sunday in Canada, with the Lamborghini Murcielago driver reportedly racing a Dodge Viper at the time. The video below shows the two cars driving on Highway 99 near Surrey, B.C, with the wildest conclusion that could be drawn from here was the two drivers were... taunting each other at the time when the crash occured.

The Lambo driver showed a level of douchebaggery that’s definitely above average, willing to perform a ridiculous passing maneuver. This sent his Raging Bull spinning across the road, with tire smoke covering the entire scene. The vehicle slid off the embankment, landing in a ditch.

Sure, the Murcielago’s all-wheel drive system doesn’t have electronic control, but the electronic nannies must’ve been off since the Lamborghini spun in such a violent manner. The worst part of the accident
Nonetheless, the footage doesn’t allow us to see the Murcielago hitting a chain link fence and bursting into flames. Fortunately, the fire department in the area managed to intervene in time, with nobody getting injured in the incident - as CTV reports, the supercar was driven by a 27-year-old man, with a 19-year-old passenger. Like we said, both escaped the crash unhurt.

We have to admit our intro was inspired from the driver’s intention of tricking the police officers into believing he lost control of the Lamborghini because.... his engine overheated. He must be rather annoyed by the existence of the dashcam footage below.

After all, he is facing CAD 700 ($600 or EUR 500) in fines and, more importantly, an interesting discussion with his insurance company.
