Lamborghini Design by Giugiaro Revealed by Italdesign

Giugiaro designs are well-known to every car enthusiast, but there are some parts that haven't seen the daylight until recently. The Italian designer’s name goes back to times when rich playboys traveled the Monte Carlo coast just to showoff in their Italian built supercars. The times may have changedbut the designer’s name remained at the same height.Giorgetto Giugiaro name stands behind the most luscious supercars like Ferrari 250 Berlinetta Bertone which was a true gentleman's sprortscar and the Lamborghini Cala a car that can still take heads on most modern supercars.

A fact known by few is that he submitted a sketch for the then-scheduled Lamborghini which sadly didn’t go trough. At that time the chance of designing the now-famous Lamborghini was given to Franco Scaglione. The concept created by Giugiaro during his time at Bertone, was one of the many sketches submitted for the first Lamborghini model. Later the sketch was brought to life by his son Fabrizio as a present for his father’s 70th birthday.

After Fabrizio Giugiaro hindered on his fathers sketches, Italdesign independently built the 50 year old Lamborghini. Giugiaro’s Lamborghini is unlike anything he ever created and features lines that reminds of the Ferrari P3 and P4 with the flying buttress that were cutting edge at that time. The two seater displayed an aggressive road attitude that in our opinion would have given Lamorghini an entirely different direction. The Lamborghini concept rests at the Giugiaro Design headquarters and maybe one day it might see the the asphalt for real.
