Goodwood Festival of Speed may be a celebration for motorsport in all its forms, but it's also a good platform where carmakers can announce their new models or present recently-unveiled cars.
Lamborghini took the first category as the Sant'Agata Bolognese-based carmaker announced the raging bull emblem will be added on the Aventador Superveloce Roadster.

In other words, the Aventador LP 750-4 SV in coupé ego will have an open-top sister, the Aventador SV Roadster. Little is known about the cabrio version at this point, but Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann mentioned the roadster would be limited to 500 units.

"The Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now. We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for," said Mr. Winkelmann during his speech in Goodwood.

At this point, all we can say is the Aventador SV Roadster will have similar if identical oily bits with the coupé we saw in the metal earlier this year in Geneva, after a plethora of spyshots.

If we're right, the Lambo Aventador SV Roadster will pack 750 HP and 690 Nm (507 lb-ft) of torque. Depending on its final weight - as you know, compared to the Aventador LP 700-4 the power output of the Superveloce has been increased by 50 HP and the weight reduced by 50 kg (110 lbs) - the low-slung exotic could sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 325 km/h (217 mph).
