With Lamborghini being almost ready to hit us with the Centenario in Geneva, the Raging Bull has released a YouTube video that offers a glimpse at the limited edition hypercar. The automaker has "undone" its preview, but not before we were able to grab a screenshot and get our hands on the most enticing specs.
Paying attention to the image above reveals lightweight elements, such as the carbon fiber wheels and we have to explain that's just the tip of the iceberg - the monocoque and the panels are also made of carbon.

Then there's the aerodynamic profile. The Centenario used fuselage-like aero elements just aft of the doors, a trick that has been played by multiple uber-fast machines over the years, with the 2017 Ford GT being the most recent example.

In addition, the rear wing is active, generating the downforce required by the kind of speeds this Lambo can achieve. We're talking about a maximum velocity of 218 mph (351 km/h), while the 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint takes 2.8 seconds. As for the 0 to 186 mph (300 km/h) sprint, this is completed in 23.5 seconds.

The Aventador's naturally aspirated V12, which produces between 700 and 750 hp, depending on the model, has been further massaged to 770 hp.

The hp figure seems to have turned into a bit of an opinion splitter, with many keyboard warriors complaining about the Centenario not having over 900 horses.

We're pretty sure these people have forgotten, or perhaps have never heard of a little announcement Lamborghini released back in 2010. Called the Performance Manifesto, this explains how the carmaker would change its priorities from the top speed/acceleration/handling order that had been followed up to that point.

In the process, Sant'Agata Bolognese explained how it would improve performance by working on the power-to-weight ratio, with the efforts set to be focused on the latter aspect rather than the first.

We have to admit we're shocked to see people complaining about 770 hp and not understanding the ratio mentioned above, as well as overlooking the naturally aspirated virtues of this machine - for one thing, Lamborghini has remained the only well-known supercar builder dedicated entirely to atmospheric engines.

Well, no turbos and no production hybrid is a company path that would probably make Ferruccio Lamborghini happy. After all, the Centenario does celebrate the man's 100th birthday.

We're wondering about how many, if any, of the 20 coupes and 20 roadsters that will be built, are still available for purchase.
