Now that Lamborghini has given us yet another incarnation of the Gallardo, the , the company’s engineers are working overtime to complete the development of the model’s successor. The Cabrera, as this is expected to be called, was recently spied during a hot weather testing session.
The Cabrera could make an appearance at September’ Frankfurt Motor Show, but only as a concept, since the production model still has enough miles to go until ending the development process.
Lamborghini has been playing with carbon fiber ever since the Countach and the company has learned valuable weight-saving lessons with the Sesto Elemento limited production model. The automaker will put this experience to good use with the Cabrera.
At the center of the car, it’s most likely that we’ll find an evolution of the Gallardo’s 5.2-liter V10 engine. Since the unit currently delivers up to 570 HP, Lamborghini could take the engine past the 600 HP mark, an area that’s already occupied by the 625 HP McLaren MP4-12C.
