Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce Roadster Unveiled at Pebble Beach

The time has finally come to take a look at the official photos of the new Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce Roadster after looking at various renderings, along the way. Well, sorry to burst your bubble but the roadster version of the fastest Lambo ever made is nothing special.

As expected, the SuperVeloce is just missing its top that is a two-piece design that simply snaps in and out of its place above the heads of whoever sits in the car. Oh, and there’s also another huge difference to mention: the price tag.

While the coupe version was built in 600 units that were sold in no time for at least $493,069 each, the roadster will be even more expensive and produced in just 500 units, making it even more exclusive. That’s right, you’ll be paying more for this beauty and even though we don’t have an official number right now, we’re expecting the increase to be rather hefty.

The remaining details are virtually unchanged, though, with the same 6.5-liter V12 engine under the bonnet good for 739 HP and an acceleration to 60 that takes under 3 seconds. The top speed should be around 220 mph as well, since the little piece missing from the roof won’t make a huge difference in this regard.

As for the dry weight of the car, it’s going to be slightly higher than for the Coupe due to the extra bracing needed throughout the body to make sure things are as stiff as ever even without the roof. That should put the Roadster SuperVeloce close to 3,472 lbs (1,574 kg) which is 110 lbs (50 kg) heavier than its brother. Not that it would make a huge difference anyway.

Rumor has it that another exclusive Lamborghini is currently being shown to the unbelievably rich on the grounds of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The rumors say that it’s going to be a car following in the footsteps of cars like the Reventon and Veneno but until we hear any official info, we’ll keep the speculation to a minimum.
