Lamborghini Aventador S Drag Races Porsche 911 GT3 RS with a Surprise

Well, the answer to the question above is simple - for the fun of it. And we're not just discussing this on a theoretical level, as we've brought along a piece of footage that showcases just such a battle.

The sprinting brawl we have here took place on an airfield in Germany, with the drivers being able to focus on mashing the gas pedal.

The numbers are not in the favor of the Zuffenhausen machine. For instance, its 500 horsepower are nothing compared to the 740 ponies of the Sant'Agata Bolognese machine. And the fact that the Lambo comes in all-paw form means the Italian exotic also packs an advantage in terms of the starting phase.

However, we're here for the giggles and the drag race sitting before you easily ticks this box.

For one thing, few drag races come with sweeter soundtracks - the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 of the Lamborghini Aventador might dominate the aural side of the battle, but the duet represented by the addition of the Neunelfer's atmospheric 4.0-liter flat-six is a delight.

The pixel play uses the just-released 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera (4)S as a starting point, adding elements from the 991.2 GT3 RS.

Whole it's still too early to be certain of the Rennsport Neunelfer's tech side, the thing should maintain its current configuration, which mixes a N/A flat-six with a PDK tranny.

After all, the 2020 Porsche 911 GT3 prototypes have shown that the atmospheric engine and the manual tranny are here to stay, hence our expectations for the RS model.
