Lamborghini Aventador Goes All WRC Doing Donuts on Gravel, Rocks Fly Everywhere

Road rallies are flourishing these days, with more and more supercar drivers willing to go hooning in an organized manner. We’ve lost track of how many such events take place around the world and we now want to show you one of the typical episodes that accompany such rallies.

Those outside this world sometimes wonder what drives those who own exotics to share their supercar time with others who have similar interests. As we found out earlier this year at the Gumball 3000, the list of reasons is long, going from meeting memorable people to trashing supercars in a way that’s hard to imagine even for certain owners of such machines.

We are here to talk about the latter, with a rather extreme example of road rally shenanigans coming from the Corsa America Rally. We’re referring to the footage below, which shows what happens when somebody decides to use an Aventador as a World Rally Championship car.

To put things another way, this is a 700 hp Raging Bull baking donuts with an extra topping of gravel. Since this is an all-wheel-drive supercar, we can talk about the front wheels throwing rocks all over the sides of the vehicle.

WRC machines are one of the most bashed pieces of hardware in motorsport, but even these cars come with massive mud flaps that prevent the gravel’s caprices from ruining the bodywork.

Such protection elements are obviously absent when it comes to this Lamborghini. The only form of protection present on the $400,000 vehicle seems to be its wrap, but we wouldn’t bet on that being 100 percent effective.

The organizers of the rally used this video on the event’s Facebook page, calling supercar owners to action, as a new group shenanigan is scheduled to take place in May next year. It smells like primer already...
