We’re capping off a difficult and very crazy year with a very crazy crash. Of the WTH type: a Ford Fiesta rear-ended a Lambo and fled the scene, and it’s all on video.
This happened last weekend in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester, England. There are actually two videos of the crash, from different angles, posted to Instagram by Supercar Fails, but only the second shows the Ford Fiesta speeding away from the scene of the crash.

You can see the post at the bottom of the page. The Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster in aqua blue is coming up fast in the lane next to whoever is filming. The left blinker is on and, as the Lambo brakes to turn, a silver Ford Fiesta slams into its rear. The Lambo stops and then slowly makes the turn, before stopping again. The other vehicle is still for a moment, presumably while the driver is considering his next step. Then, it speeds away from the scene.

As the video was posted to various social media platforms, it reignited the old debate: who’s to blame in a rear-ending crash? In this particular case, many say that the Lambo driver is responsible for accelerating before braking, which could have sent the wrong message to the motorists behind. Most, though, are saying the same thing as the law in this case: if you rear-end someone, it’s your fault for not keeping the distance and your eyes on the road.

The Lambo driver has identified himself to claim the latter was the case: the Ford Fiesta driver was on his phone, filming the supercar traveling in front of him, which is why he failed to brake in time. Sebastien Dubois, CEO & head trader at FX Cartel, has also thanked the community for the support and help in finding the runaway driver. They had a partial registration number for the Fiesta and worked from there to finding the driver.

As for the damage to the Aventador, he wouldn’t go into specifics except to note that it was worse than he initially assumed. Still, he assured the same supporters that this “beast will get back on the road in no time.”
