It's no secret that the Lamborghini Aventador has an Achille's Heel, namely its ISR automated manual transmission. And when the tranny decides to quit its job while the Raging Bull is inside a delivery truck loaded with expensive cars, trouble is just one dashboard light away.
The description above matches supercar collector Rob Ferretti's latest YouTube-shared adventure perfectly, with the man having recently attempted special vehicle transport.

According to Rob, the Aventador worked just fine while being loaded onto the truck, but when the team tried to take the V12 animal out, its gearbox wouldn't even shift into neutral. So the guys were stuck.

We'll stop throwing spoilers at you, since we hate ruining the fun of the clip. However, before inviting you to head over to the "play" button below and let the Raging Bull tech issue entertain you, we'll drop a few reminders on how the ISR tranny of the Aventador works.

Unlike its competitors, or the Lamborghini Huracan, for that matter, the V12-animated Sant'Agata Bolognese machine doesn't pack a dual-clutch transmission. Instead, it has a single-clutch unit, albeit one that follows the instant-shift principles of DCTs. The Independent Shifting Rods gearbox can disengage a gear while the next one is being engaged, with changes taking just 50 ms.

However, as we discovered during our Aventador and Aventador Roadster review, the tons of fresh technology Lamborghini injected into the ISR transmission still don't allow the box to get over the typical issues of any automated manual, namely handling parking and low-speed city driving well.

The Italians cited weight-related reasons for skipping a dual-clutch setup on the Aventador, while we have to admit the brutal feel of the ISR shifts does boost the car's personality. However, when you have to climb a steep ramp, you might get into trouble.

P.S.: For the recrod, the number plate Rob talks about is Ukrainian.
