The Lamborghini Aventador had been with us for seven years now and yet the Sant'Agata Bolognese machine continues to swipe us off our feet. Of course, this doesn't prevent drivers of junior supercar from taking on the V12 animal. On the contrary - the latest adventure of the kind sees a stock Aventador duking it out with a McLaren 570S.
Now, the 570S might pack a mighty punch for the Sport Series label the British automaker uses for the thing. Nevertheless, the Woking toy is no tool to attack an Aventador.
Well, the Macca we have here is a modded machine. The 570S hasn't received major mods, but we'll remind you that the said status of the supercar means its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 has some room to spare.
To be more precise, this 570S comes with a custom exhaust and ECU remap, with the said motor now delivering north of 600 hp.
The two mid-engined machines got together on the highway, with this being a street race. Most encounters of the kind involve rolling starts, since these are less disruptive for traffic and get the job done quicker.
Then again, this adventure is different. Sure, a rolling takeoff was involved, but the drivers decided to also go for a standing start. Of course, this allowed the Aventador to make use of its amazing all-paw takeoff - as we found out in our Aventador review, the explosive launch of the 700 hp machine is the kind that you never forget, which is probably why the drivers we have here didn't want to miss the opportunity to put the animal to work.
P.S.: Those of you looking to skip past the usual YouTube chat and go straight for the racing action can head over to the 18:05 point of the clip, as that's where the exhaust screaming duet can be found.
