Despite the billions Audi has invested in revamping its model lineup in time for the Paris Motor Show, everything they made has been completely overshadowed by the new hybrid supercar from Lamborghini.
Its full name is the Lamborghini Asterion LPi 910-4 Concept. We think we'll stick with Asterion for now, which if you're interested to know is actually the name for a minotaur. In case your Greek mythology need a quick refresh, a minotaur is a creature which is half bull and half man, in other words, a hybrid – perfect for a raging bull that can run like a Toyota Prius.

The demigod from Italy gets the 610 horsepower 5.2-liter V10 from the Huracan, coupled to three more electric motors that bump output all the way to 910 horsepower. That's enough for us, Lamborghini, thank you very much!

Officials tell us it will do 0 to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 199 miles per hour or 320 km/h. There are faster Lamborghini supercars in the world, but none of them can switch to EV mode and run completely silently at up to 125 km/h (78 mph).

We saw that for the first time during the Volkswagen Group Night, when the Asterion completely overshadowed the Fabias and VW Buses that were brought on stage. At that time, nobody realized they were witnessing a front-wheel drive Lamborghini, right in front of their eyes.

Because the Asterion is clearly the most important and popular car at the Paris Motor Show, we came back to Lamborghini for a second, much closer look at the car. As you can see, it's a departure from the Huracan and Aventador. Its streamlined design evokes Lamborghini's famous classic GTs without actually using any of their lines – pictures really don't do it justice, trust us.

The question on everybody's lips as they toured the car is "will they build it?". After all, Lamborghini has shown two more concepts in the past, the Urus and Estoque, which never made it into production. Just like Goldilocks and The Story of the Tree Bears, the third porridge is the one that's just right. Asterion has presence, power and makes sense in a world where emissions regulations and taxes are actually stopping rich people from buying supercars.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
