The year 2020 wasn’t great for the automotive industry, which felt the full brunt of the health crisis. Automobili Lamborghini, however, has sailed through this setback with a small decline over its 2019 sales.
According to the bean counters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Raging Bull sold 9 percent fewer vehicles despite Italy and the world going into lockdown. A total of 7,430 vehicles were delivered in 2020, and as expected, the Urus proved to be the most popular Lamborghini of them all.

The go-faster SUV with Volkswagen Group underpinnings accounted for 4,391 units, the Huracan entry-level supercar recorded 2,193 units, and the range-topping Aventador sold 846 examples. According to Lamborghini, 2021 is looking great so far because more than half of the planned production has already been assigned to dealerships and customers alike.

Stephan Winkelmann, who replaced Stefano Domenicali at the helm of the Italian automaker back in December, couldn’t be happier.

“The 2020 results are a clear demonstration of the excellent work that, despite the difficulties of a year of global challenges, was carried out by the entire Lamborghini team with enormous dedication and a spirit of resilience. It is a great honor for me to again be part of our future,” declared the big kahuna who previously headed the Raging Bull from 2005 to 2016.

Turning our attention back to sales volumes, the United States of America was confirmed once again as the top market for Automobili Lamborghini with 2,224 vehicles to its name. Germany and China follow suit in the rankings with 607 and 604 units, respectively, the United Kingdom is where 517 deliveries were made, and Italy accounted for 347 cars and utility vehicles.

At the time of writing, the most affordable way of owning a Lamborghini is to pony up $208,570 for the Huracan EVO Coupe RWD. The Urus is the second most affordable model in the lineup at $218,010 in the United States, and the Aventador Roadster S kicks off at $460,422, excluding freight and options.
