While our beloved cars being turned into air pollution scapegoats is putting even more pressure on high-octane vehicle manufacturers, those who want to get their kicks out of riding in insanely powerful V12 machines, for instance, still have plenty of possibilities to do so.
We've brought along an example that easily demonstrates this, namely the piece of footage at the bottom of the page. Coming from a French supercar spotter, this brings us a comparison between a LaFerrari and a Brabus Mercedes-Maybach 900 Rocket.

So, how can you pit these two against each other? Well, since both are animated by twelve-cylinder units, this footage lover caught the moment when the cars were brought to life in front of Le Royal Monceau - Raffles hotel in Paris, thus offering us a 900-ish horsepower cold engine startup comparo.

Now, before you hit the "play" button below and let the two V12s entertain you, let's talk figures, shall we?

We'll start with Maranello's halo car and since we're interested in suck-squeeze-bang-blow delights here, we'll skip the overall 950 hp (963 PS) output, which also includes the electric part of the deal. Instead, we'll mention the Prancing Horse's 6.3-liter V12, which delivers an astounding 789 hp (800 PS).

Moving on to the uber-lavish sedan, this is based on the Mercedes-Maybach S600, whose 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 is bored out to 6.3 liters and gifted with all sorts of performance goodies that allow it to deliver 887 hp (900 PS). Among those goodies, we find an exhaust system that allows the turbocharged setup to compete with the naturally aspirated voice of the LaFerrari, at least when it comes to the startup.

P.S.: Interestingly, while Ferrari claims its gas-electric machine has a top speed of over 217 mph (make that 349 km/h), this is also the number Brabus mentions when talking about the Autobahn abilities of its luxurious offering.
