UPDATE: LaFerrari Visits the Nurburging, Drifts in the Woods

Maranello has yet to offer us an official Nurburgring lap time for the LaFerrari and while we hate them for that, it's hard to argue with the Prancing Horse's logic. For instance, an example of the hybrid hypercar recently visited the 'Ring, with the chronograph mystery helping raise the buzz.

The black LaFerrari visited the German motoring pilgrimage site together with a 599GTO, with both cars in a playfull mood. The owner wasn't out to set any lap records, but we did learn a few things from this.

The pair was captured on camera by various Nordschleife-addicted car spotters, with the video results being shown below. Moreover, photographer GF Williams followed the Ferraris closely, offering us the Manetinno-switching adjacent images.

So, without further ado, here is what we can make of the petrol-electric adventure:

  • Apparently, when you drive a LaF, the track is not enough, not even when we're talking about the Nurburgring- as you can see above, the driver couldn't help himself and drifted the 950 hp (963 PS) machine outside the track. Looks like the notion of Green Hell was expanded here.

  • As we've noticed on other occasions, the rear diff of the LaFerrari likes to make sure the outer wheel gets all the power in the world during the sideways moments, which is why we always see more smoke coming out of that tire than we would've expected. Brilliant.

  • After seeing both the LaFerrari and the 599GTO drift their way through the same corner on the Nurburgring, the body roll on the latter seems like it it belongs to a Scuderia Ferrari truck.

  • The LaFerrari looks absolutely gorgeous in the mud, so here's to hoping Tax The Ritch don't take things too far when they get their hands on one.

  • On a side... note, we can clearly hear the exhaust tone of the Ferrari halo car in the bottom clip below and that v12 sounds just right. However, a Honda Civic del Sol appears in the footage, with its four-banger somehow managing to cream louder than the Ferrari. We'll skip the ricer jokes on this occasion.

UPDATE: an aptly-named piece of in-car footage has showed up, so we can all see just how deep a LaFerrari Nurburgring drive can affect one's emotions - clip right below.
