Those of you following the hypercar scene closely have noticed the LaFerrari is usually missing from the hybrid triumvirate test attempts and that’s because Ferrari has a very strict policy when it comes to its halo machine.
Nevertheless, we are here to show you a Chinese event that saw the 950 hp (963 PS) Prancing Horse battling it out with a McLaren P1. With the race taking place on a track in China, we have no details, but the footage below shows the petrol-electric pair accelerating flat out on a straight.
The 950 (963 PS) Ferrari finds itself behind the 903 HP (916 PS) Woking machine and yet we don’t have a complete image of the race. Still, seeing the two battling it out is a rare occasion, so we’ll settle for that.
As for Maranello’s rules about the LaFerrari staying away from Fight Club, nothing is official, but the rules are pretty simple. Most media outlets willing to organise such races are looking for customer cars, as press vehicle are more or less standard.
Ferrari may allow its clients to lend their hypercars to the press for such events, but not when a documented test is prepared. So basically Ferrari doesn’t want people timing the LaF.
Still, this doesn’t prevent LaFerrari owners from hooning their monster rides. From drifting onto a public road or crashing, the LaF has had its fair share of tumultuous events. And if this might sound like a bit too much, you should see what people do to Enzos.
