UPDATED: LaFerrari Owned by Qatar Sheikh Drives Recklessly in Beverly Hills, Overheats

We're all used to douchebag supercar and hypercar drivers. But when a LaFerrari and a Porsche 911 GT3 turn a Beverly Hills neighborhood into their playground, with only the hypercar's overheated engine stopping them, you know things have gone out of control.

This has been one agitated weekend for the Beverly Hills residents in this area (we must thank the Youtube population for the link), with the Ferrari and the Porsche using the neighborhood as their private racetrack.

Peak mayhem came from the LaFerrari driver, who didn't even seem to care for his own safety, let alone that of the LED sneaker-wearing children roaming the streets. Or for the car.

Burnouts? Sure, that's nothing when you've decided to run a stop sign with your right foot mashing the throttle. California's steep driveway access points were no match for this guy, with the man scrapping the LaFerrari's front apron on at least two occasions - acceleration, braking, it makes no difference for this driver.

The Porsche didn't seem to go all that far down the reckless route. Or at least that's what we think - when it comes to this sort of moments, the cars whose drivers are nicer less idiotic don't get filmed all that much, which is what happened here.

Still, the GT3, which is said to have iPE straight pipes, handled the part where all the neighbors are aurally assaulted.

The LaFerrari itself didn't seem too impressed with the neighborhood reckless driving, so it decided to call it a day after a while. The engine compartment warning, which most likely showed signs of overheating, finally determined the driver to give up trying to impress.

Having ticked enough boxes on the douchebaggery form, the cars retreat to the safety of what appears to be their rented home (another hat tip to Youtube commenters).

Unfortunately for these guys, the property doesn't have a gate. However, they used the AMG G-Class at the beginning of the clip as a barrier for their driveway.

Neighbours and car spotters weren't the only ones witnessing the show, though. Police soon showed up at the house, but we have no details of what followed.

However, we can tell you that the LaFerrari, as well as the Bugatti whom it shares the driveway with, use Qatar plates. Expensive Qatar vanity plates, that is.

Most, if not all of the vehicles that took part in this stunt belong to Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad, a member of the Al Thani Royal Family. These people are well known for their high-octane stable, but when their motorized horses fall into the wrong hands (the drivers are unidentified), it makes us feel London isn't the only one having a supercar problem.

Update 1: Now that the police has opened up an investigation, one of the drivers is claiming diplomatic immunity. Oh, and by the way, the LaFerrari and the G-Wagen had pulled a similar stunt back in August, so these guys like to play with other people's lives on a regular basis.

Update 2: It seems the drivers involved in the Beverly Hills-terrorizing LaFerrari stunt are simple douchebags with no diplomatic immunity. However, they have now fled the city, with their rented house having been cleared, as Jalopnik writes.

The Californian law doesn’t allow charges to be pushed until the drivers are identified. And while the police haven't managed to do that, they do have the identity (undisclosed) of the owners.
