Welcome to a new chapter in the long dispute of cars against motorcycles, but this time, it's not about the right of way, splitting lanes, or whose top speed is higher. Prepare to witness the Italian hybrid supercar technology against the Austrian roadster might in a tug of war game between a Ferrari LaFerrari and a KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
Some might say that the Duke doesn't stand a chance, but we just reply asking them to watch the video until the end to change their mind. Indeed, the power difference is ridiculous. The Super Duke R packs 180 hp at 8,870 rpm while the LaFerrari brings an 800 PS aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine to the fight. Even more, the Italian beast also has an esquire in the shape of a 163 PS electric motor for a total of 950 bhp. Still, the KTM is not going down too easily...

It was terribly funny to see a LaFerrari, arguably one of the sleekest cars Ferrari dished lately, equipped with a trailer hitch, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, right?

A strong tow line was stretched between the two beasts and we were thrilled to see that they were separated by a small pool in front of the Italian castle where this dispute took place. As fun as it may have been seeing either the LaFerrari or the Super Duke R taking a bath, we're glad it didn't happen. It would have only meant that one of them should take unnecessary damage, and that would have been utterly pointless.

Now, it looks like it's not exactly the superior power of the LaFerrari that wins the duel, but the extra rubber that puts it to the ground. The Ferrari boasts two 345mm rear tires, whereas the KTM's contact patch is most likely at least ten times smaller.

Still, the battle was a most honorable one and we can't be mad at the Beast for losing it.
