Lady Gaga Adopts Biker Theme for Judas

A couple of days ago we were reporting on the latest GagaTweets, which hinted to a motorcycle-themed music video for her latest single, ‘Judas’. The rumors were indeed true, as we get to see the controversial artist blending biker and biblical themes together, all while singing her love to the... wrong guy.

But let’s dig deeper into the story and see what this is all about. The video starts with a motorcycle gang riding on the freeway, with each member coming as one of the twelve apostles, as the names written on their leather jackets reveal.

And there we find the pop star, playing a modern day Mary Magdalene and riding with Jesus on the back of a motorcycles. However, she sings her love to Judas, a man who has betrayed her. The Federico Fellini-esque music video stars The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus as Judas.

What is really interesting is that the Jesus part is played by none other than Rick Gonzales, an American actor with latin origins who played Primo in the 2003 film Biker Boyz, a movie about a group of underground motorcycle drag racers.

“It's a metaphor. It's not meant to be a biblical lesson,”
she told E! 'I view it as social statement, defending the video that has raised a lot of eyebrows.

“"Judas" is a metaphor and an analogy about forgiveness and betrayal and things that haunt you in your life and how I believe that it's the darkness in your life that ultimately shines and illuminates the greater light that you have upon you,” she was quoted as saying by MSN.
